Your Path to Brighter Days
Hi. I’m glad you’re here! Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about my approach.
My work as a therapist focuses on identifying, exploring, and addressing the root causes of the issues people face—trauma, attachment wounds, loss, chronic stress, and other overwhelming life experiences.
I operate from an understanding that people are all inherently functional, worthy, grounded, able to love and be loved. They do their best with the tools they are given to navigate their unique life circumstances. When denied effective options for meeting basic needs like safety, connection, and choice, patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours can develop that evolve into the issues that bring people to therapy--anxiety, depression, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, low self-worth, and difficulties in relationships.
The use of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is at the heart of my approach to help individuals recover a sense of peace and control in their lives. EMDR targets the experiences that lie beneath the issues you face, reducing the impact of emotionally charged memories of the past and restoring a sense of balance in the present. It aims to put the past in the past where it belongs. Clients who embrace this form of therapy often report feeling calmer, more grounded, and better able to employ new, more effective strategies in their life and relationships.
I deeply value the connection I build with clients. I aim for collaboration at every step of the therapeutic process, offering transparency and choice. My style is warm, genuine, direct, and conversational. Being helpful, supportive, and affirming of all identities is part of my professional stance and how I strive to show up in my life.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years supporting youth and families, delivering programs on topics like parenting, healthy relationships and emotional regulation. While I enjoy working with people of all ages as a therapist, I have a particular wealth of tools for youth, couples, and adults engaged in family life.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to those interested in working with me. I look forward to hearing from you and discussing how I can help.
